Words Are Important!
“Your enemies dig a pit to trap you, and they fall into the midst thereof" (Psalm 57:6)!
Jesus said, “You can be sure that on Judgment Day you will have to give account of every useless (negative, barren, idle, non-productive) word you have ever spoken” (Matthew 12:36, GNT).
“Words are powerful, so take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation” (Matthew 12:37, MSG).
If your words now affect what happens to you on Judgment Day, that means the words you speak today affect your future. Actually, your words are not just audible in nature, but they are also spiritual in nature (John 6:63) and go into your future and affect your future before you get there.
So if your words affect what happens in your future, they not only affect your outcome on Judgment Day, but they affect your future three months, six months, or five years from now. Therefore use your words wisely today to affect and create what you want to experience in the days ahead.
Think of your words as invisible construction workers, leaving your mouth and going into your future and building the life you want (or don’t want), months from now. Or think of your words as farmers planting good seeds or weeds in the field of your future that you will someday walk into, and either enjoy or hate the fruit that was planted.
