First Praise, Then Answer

Just as there are laws that govern mathematics, science, aviation, electricity, etc., there are laws that govern prayer. Our job as believers is to tap into, and use these laws of prayer to cause the will of God to be done on earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10). There are three basic approaches the believer uses in prayer.

Approach number one: PRAISE

Psalm 95:2, “Come before His presence with thanksgiving.”
Psalm 100:2, “Come before His presence with singing.”
Psalm 100:4, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.”
Philippians 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
These verses tell us that with thanksgiving and praise we are ushered into His glorious presence. We are to let God know through praise that we are aware of what He has been to us, and done for us, throughout the years.

Through praise and thanksgiving, we magnify who God is as we demonstrate an attitude of gratitude. We also magnify what God has done in times past, through praise. We thank Him that what He’s done for others, He will do for us.

As we rehearse the deeds of God, faith comes alive in our hearts and makes us ready to receive from Him.

After we have sufficiently praised Him, then we make our requests known to God (Philippians 4:6).
