Prepare for Increase
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
I’ve been talking for some time about the need for Christians to start “acting” like they are who God says they are. I’ve been encouraging people to act the part until it becomes a part of them.
An actor thinks like, speaks like, identifies with, and stays “in character” with who they are attempting to portray so that their “scene” comes across believable.
If an American has a British role, for example, they may stay “in character” and speak with a British accent even after they have left the set.
To play the part of a battered woman, an actress may visit a women’s shelter.
In cop movies, an actor inquires of real cops and does ride-alongs.
In war movies, an actor inquires of real soldiers.
Will Smith learned boxing to prepare for his movie role in “Ali.”
Demi Moore went to some actual Navy SEALs training classes to prepare for her role in “G.I. Jane.”
Patrick Dempsey (Grey's Anatomy) started driving lower-classed race cars and worked his way up to be able to be sponsored by Porsche as he raced Le Mans.
So what I’m saying is, if God says, “you more than a conqueror through Christ,” then you act like a conqueror. If He said, “you are blessed,” then act like you’re blessed, and so forth.
