Called to Be a Saint
Did you know that the Bible refers to you as a saint? The New Testament refers to believers as saints sixty-one times.
Ephesians 2:19 says, “You are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household.”
God saved you to be His son or daughter and calls you a saint. He made you to be a part of His household along with all the other saints.
God wants you to take your place as a brother or a sister with all the other members of His household and to call Him Father. He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place, pay the penalty for your sins, and make you perfectly right with Himself. You now have access to everything God has because you are now a saint and part of His royal family.
God gave you His very own righteousness. You are righteous!
2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “God made Jesus, who knew no sin, to be sin on our behalf, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Christ.”
Being made righteous doesn’t just mean right living. It means right standing. You have right standing with God as if sin never existed.
God created us to have a relationship (He’s our Heavenly Father, and we are His children) and fellowship with Him.
God wanted a family made in His image. He achieved this by changing our nature through the new birth. We were created to be with God, like God, and to be the righteousness of God.
The Bible calls you a saint. God has set you apart for a special purpose, the first of which is to be a part of His family.
