Jesus Won the Victory
“If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes” (Mark 9:23).
A principle in developing faith in the name of Jesus is to consider the accomplishments of Jesus when He rose from the dead.
Jesus “Destroyed him that had the power of death, that is the devil” (Hebrews 2:14). He “destroyed the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8). “He delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into His own Kingdom” (Colossians 1:13). He gave every believer forgiveness of our sins, everlasting life, heaven as our eternal home, right-standing with God, and life more abundantly in the here and now.
So, sometimes you pray to your Heavenly Father and ask and believe Him to materialize what He has promised you, and sometimes you “stand in the place of Jesus” and by faith command certain things to happen in His name. Jesus told us that we could even speak to mountains and they would have to obey us (Mark 11:23). Mountains can represent huge problems, obstacles, and circumstances. People sometimes say, “I have a mountain of debt."
That’s what Jesus meant when He said, “The works that you see me do, you shall do also: and even greater works shall you do because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12). The way you do the works that Jesus did is by using His name, in faith, to command answers and results to occur.
God said, “I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it” (Jeremiah 1:12, AMP).
