God Can't Lie and Won't Die

Let’s be clear about this important challenge. You don’t overcome problems and obstacles by thinking and worrying about them. You overcome problems and obstacles by thinking about God’s promises that offer the solution to the problems, and victory over the obstacles and demonic attacks.

When you made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life (Romans 10:9-10), at the same instant God became your Heavenly Father. He can be trusted. He will keep His promises better than any earthly parent or friend will.

As you walk with God daily, and get His promises in you, that will activate what Jesus said. He said, “You shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7). The CEV Bible puts it this way: “Stay joined to me and let my teachings become part of you. Then you can pray for whatever you want, and your prayer will be answered” (John 15:7).

A man may make you a promise with no intention of fulfilling what he said. Another man may make you a promise with every intention of fulfilling the promise, but circumstances may arise making it impossible for him to fulfill what he said. Still another man may make you a promise and die before he can fulfill it. God’s promises are always “Yes and Amen,” and God cannot lie and He will not die. For that reason, you can have confidence that you will receive what has been promised to you from God.
