You Are a Child of God
“You are of God my little children and have overcome them, for greater is He that is within you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
That is such a great verse because it lets us know three important things:
“We are of God.” Meaning that we have been “fathered” by God, or born anew from God, and are now His child.
“We have overcome them.” What is it we have overcome? We have overcome the world, the curse, the dictates of the flesh, and the devil and everything he brings to try to harm mankind.
We have been born of God, we have overcome all worldly obstacles, and the reason for that great victory is, “Greater is He that is within you than he that is in the world.”
God in you is greater than anything the world and the devil can throw at you!
You are God’s child and therefore God is with you, God is for you, God is your defense, God is your healer and protector at all times. You can’t go under for going over, you’re not going to sink, you’re going to swim or walk on the water like Peter did with Jesus. Someway, somehow, God is going to make a way for you where it seems like there is no way.
Every day be sure to encourage yourself by remembering that you are a child of God and He will never leave you nor forsake you. So stay “strong in the Lord and the power of His might” and be sure to “put on the whole armor of God that you can stand against the strategies and schemes of the devil” (Ephesians 6:10-11).
Our corporate faith is bringing victory to the entire world!
