Receive What God Says
“All [not some] of the promises of God in him [Jesus Christ] are yea and Amen [Yes, yes, yes! And so be it!]” 2 Corinthians 1:20.
You are a believer, not a doubter! It is your new Christ-nature to believe what God said. Once you get a grip on the principles of faith you will experience much better results on a regular basis. Be certain you apply yourself to understand (internalize, personalize, and master) each step I will be giving you, then be diligent to do the steps in their proper order.
The pastor of LIFE Church, UK, and international speaker, Paul Scanlon, was talking about receiving the blessings of God at the local church when he said, “I’m very concerned. The sad truth is, what’s being advertised in the shop window isn’t available in the shop. And it’s been that way for many years.”
He went on to point out that local churches, worldwide, advertise that Jesus forgives sins, saves, delivers people from anything and everything holding them in bondage, answers prayer, heals every kind of sickness and every kind of disease, restores families, turns the hearts of the children back to the parents, gives supernatural peace, joy and victory, and wants to prosper His people.
He said that generally speaking, the most people ever receive at church are forgiveness for their sins (basic salvation) and a list of rules that define what Christian behavior should look like.
Perhaps we need to rethink the way we think about our relationship with God, and how we receive His promises and blessings. The Bible says that it was through faith that the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 received the promises of God.
That being true, we need to understand that the Bible says, “Faith comes, [grows, increases, and develops] by hearing the Word of God” (Romans 10:17).
Let’s make it our new commitment to hear God’s Word, master His principles, and develop our faith so it can be stronger than ever.
“Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:10).
