God's Will is Healing
In the Bible, there is a story of a man who knew Jesus had the power to heal him and could heal him. But he doubted Jesus’ willingness to use His power on his behalf.
Nearly everyone knows that God can heal. He’s God. However, most doubt His willingness to heal them. Since God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34), allow the following verses to settle any question you might have about the willingness of Jesus to heal you.
Diligently consider the story from Matthew 8:2-3 (NIV). “A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.”
Let’s look at parts of that verse from some other translations.
“Sir,” he said, “If you want to, you can cure me.” Jesus stretched out His hand, touched him, and said, “Of course I want to!” And his leprosy was cured at once (Jerusalem Translation).
“… Sir, if you really wanted to, You could heal me. …I do want to. Be healed”(Jordan Translation).
“…I am desiring it from all My heart. Be cleansed at once” (Wuest Translation).
Based on the different translations of God’s willingness to heal, make the following Affirmation of Faith:
“God wants me well. Healing is the will of God. It is God’s good pleasure to heal me. God is at work in me right now, willing to do His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). God desires my healing with all His heart. God’s will is being done in my life; therefore, healing is at work in me right now.”
