Jesus Took My Sicknesses
Isaiah 53 prophesies that the Messiah will bring healing to His people. The following verses show us that Jesus healed all who were sick in fulfillment of Isaiah 53:4-5. Today, Jesus still heals all who come to Him with living faith.
Now let’s look at Matthew 8:16-17 to build your faith for healing.
NIV – When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases.”
Notice the passage states, “He took our infirmities, and carried our diseases.” An infirmity is different than a sickness. The word infirmity has to do with a weakness or inability of the body to perform a specific task caused by an injury or old age. Jesus took both your infirmities and sicknesses. Praise God!
KJV – Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Translator’s New Testament – He took away our illnesses and carried away our diseases.
Now make the following Affirmation of Faith to build your faith for healing.
“Jesus Himself took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses. He carried away my sicknesses. He took them away; He bore them away and removed them. Disease is not mine. Healing is mine. I refuse to accept sickness. I will not tolerate sickness. Sickness and disease are totally unacceptable. Jesus bore my sicknesses and infirmities, therefore I refuse to have them.”
Resist sickness with the promises of God to heal you!
