God Doesn't Make Junk

I hope you have discovered that a healthy self-image, along with the grace of God and your faith in who you are in God’s sight, has given you the life more abundantly that you desire and Jesus came to give you (John 10:10).

Allow me to share some general observations and principles with you here. Even without knowing you, I can assure you that your self-image is very different from the image that God has of you. God loves you totally and unconditionally.

In addition to that, if you’re like most people, your self-image is probably even very different from how the people around you, see you. My belief is that together we are going to elevate both my and your self-image and self-esteem to the point that we will love who God made us to be, and be happy and thankful to be alive every day.

Even though this is not Psychology 101, I am believing to give you some insight into the nature of the human psyche that I have learned from the Word of God and over 30 years of counseling perhaps thousands of people.

You will find that some people who outwardly seem to have it all (a symmetric, beautiful face and body, plenty of money, fame, seemingly great relationships, intelligence, and opportunities) may have a poor self-image and may be in mental torment because of it.

The other side of that coin is that others who don’t have much money and may even be unappealing to look at, and have had a very difficult life and multiple hardships, may have a very positive, healthy self-image.

Regardless of which side of the coin you are on, or somewhere in between, there’s always room for improvement, and in my opinion, an absolute rule is, as your self-image improves, your life improves. “For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:10).

God doesn’t make junk, so love yourself!
