Think About God's Favor

I want to look at the favor on Mary’s life, how the birth of Jesus began with favor, and how God’s supernatural favor is available to you!

“And the angel came unto Mary, and said, greetings, you are highly favored, the Lord is with you: you are blessed among women” (Luke 1:28).

Question:  How did God select the woman who would become the mother of the Son of God?

Answer:  He selected a woman whom He highly favored! A woman who today is loved and adored by millions. Her name is Mary.

“The angel said unto Mary, the Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you: therefore also that holy being which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35).

“The shepherds were abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night as they had always done. Suddenly the angel of the Lord appeared and the glory of the Lord shone round about them and they were very frightened” (Luke 2:8-9).

“An angel announced to them the birth of the Savior of Israel, Christ the Lord. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill towards men. The shepherds immediately left for Bethlehem to go see with their own eyes the Savior that God had sent. They then went throughout the land telling the good news of what they saw and heard concerning this child” (Luke 2:11,13-14, 15-17).

“But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart” (Luke 2:19).

God is going to show you favor in many ways. You may think that an event or blessing was a coincidence, but as Mary did, ponder what happened in your heart, and you will see that it is the favor of God in your life.
