Persuaded of Favor

Psalm 5:12 says, “With favor God will compass you about as with a shield.”

Let’s explore how this great Psalm can be played out in your life.

Psalm 32:10, “The wicked will have to suffer, but those who trust in the LORD are protected by his constant love.” Why are you protected by God’s constant love? Because with favor, God compasses you as with a shield.

Psalm 31:24, “Be strong, be courageous, all you that hope in the LORD.” Why should you be strong and courageous in these challenging times? It’s because, with favor, God compasses you as with a shield.

Psalm 40:11, “LORD, I know you will never stop being merciful to me. Your love and loyalty will always keep me safe.” Why will God always be merciful to you and keep you safe? Because with favor, God compasses you as with a shield.

Your Assignment:

Go through the Psalms and read the blessings that have ministered to you in the past (perhaps you have verses underlined or highlighted that have blessed you in the past). As you read those powerful blessings, stop to ponder them and declare, “With favor God compasses me as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12).

This simple exercise alone will help solidify your thinking that God indeed favors you. The more you affirm this statement at the end of the blessings you found throughout the Bible, the more your soul will believe and rest on the bedrock of God’s favor in your life.

With favor, God compasses you about as with a shield. Affirm this truth often, and soon, you will not only believe it but also start experiencing it.
