Thrive While You're Alive

In my last blog “You Get What You Think”, I shared with you that the number one topic spoken of the most in the whole Bible concerns our thinking. The number two most talked-about topic in the Bible is prosperity—God wants His people to prosper.

The second most discussed subject in the Bible is prosperity, which includes wealth, riches, possessions, abundance, increase, supply, provisions, stewardship, giving and receiving, making a living, seedtime, harvest, and so forth.

It has been God’s Will to prosper His people financially (and in every other way) since He placed Adam and Eve in the most prosperous place on Earth, the Garden of Eden.

It might be of interest to you to know that it was in the days of Adam and Eve, the very beginning, that God said, “The gold of that land is good” (Genesis 2:12). If God thinks gold is good, so should you.

The first words a human ear heard was “Thrive and become more.” Genesis 1:28, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”

Be fruitful (increase and thrive), multiply, replenish, and have dominion. In Romans 4 and Galatians 3, God tells us that we are connected to Abraham and that Abraham’s blessings belong to us if we have faith in Jesus Christ. That means every good thing listed in the Psalms, Deuteronomy 28, and other places are things God wants us to have and enjoy.
