Forgive by Faith
“God leads out the prisoners to prosperity” (Psalm 68:6, RSV).
In Mark 11:23-24, Jesus gives us tremendous insight into how to manifest the promises of God. First He says to “speak to your mountains,” then He says, “believe you receive when you pray.” Jesus, however, does not stop His teaching on prayer here.
Jesus went on to say, “And when you stand praying, forgive, if ye have anything against anyone: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses” (Mark 11:25-26).
A life free from strife and unforgiveness is a necessity for effective prayer. It may be true that someone did you wrong and hurt you. You may feel justified in being mad or even hating that person. But if you are going to achieve great things for God through prayer, Jesus said you must forgive.
Ask yourself this question, “Is all that is available to me in prayer worth throwing away because of some thoughtless person?” Answered prayer gives God glory, but unforgiveness gives Satan glory. Who do you choose to glorify?
Forgive by faith, not by feeling!
