Connect With God's Promise

“I have caused you to multiply as the bud of the field, and you have increased and become great” (Ezekiel 16:7).

The release of God’s power is dependent on the connection of our faith with God’s promise. There can be no faith where there is connection and no confidence.

There can be no confidence towards God where there is condemnation.

“If our heart condemns us not (meaning, if we don’t feel unworthy, if we don't feel a sense of guilt, if we don’t feel unacceptable to God), whatever we ask we receive of Him” (1 John 3:21).

Whatever we ask we receive—Wow, that’s great!

When I first got saved, I liked to attend home Bible studies. Often, after the meeting, there would be special prayer for the needs of those present. Many times, the host would say, “Brother Glen, this lady is sick. Would you please pray for her?”

I would sometimes say, “Maybe you better ask someone else to pray for her, I’ve had a hard week.” (I was aware that I had committed some sin recently.)

What I really meant was, I was experiencing condemnation and had no confidence in prayer. Thank God, He led me to Romans 8:1 which tells us “there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”

After I embraced that scripture by faith, regardless of how my week was going, I could pray the prayer of faith with confidence that God would hear and answer!
