New Year's Resolutions

Many of us find ourselves trying to work on resolutions and commitments we made on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day three years ago. Some of our resolutions are just plain tough. Hard. Uncomfortable. Part of materializing what you desire is a stick-to-it-ness and not quitting whenever your mind and body is screaming out for comfort.

Many people wonder, “What does the future hold for me?” If you allow each day to play out the way you have in the past, your future will look just like today.

As a Christian, you must know that materializing your desire requires faith in what God promised and mental toughness. So many know the first part but not the second part. If you quit fighting and working towards your goal, you block the blessings of God. I encourage you to take strength and not wimp out when the going gets tough in achieving your goals.

In Mark 4:30-32, Jesus compares the Word of God to a seed. “Jesus said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it grows up, it becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.”

Did you notice the first part of verse 32? “But when it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than….”

Using what Jesus said in Mark 4:30-32 and substituting the words “The Word of God” for the words “mustard seed,” as Jesus Himself did in Mark 4:13, we see…“The Word of God, when it is sown, grows up, and becomes greater than ___________________.” (You fill in the blank with whatever challenge or attack you are facing, and God’s Word will grow and conquer the problem).

Your New Year’s resolution is within reach!
