You Are No Longer a Worm

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).

There are different scenarios on what happens to a person who has negative beliefs about themself. The verse above tells us that the way we think in our heart about ourselves, or about a situation is the way we will experience it.

If a person thinks and believes that God is with them and He is for them, that will certainly be their experience, for “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

I want you to know how much God loves you! He wants to be with you in the trenches, in every battle. What God wants to do is fight for you! “The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:14).

As a pastor, I hear many Christians complaining about how broke and unlucky they are, how fearful they are of our modern society, and so on. To sound humble, they even refer to themselves in prayer as worms, dogs, and unworthy sinners.

The New Testament reveals God’s view of us now that we are Christians because we have received Jesus as our Lord and Savior. God uses terms like sons of God, heirs of God, joint-heirs with Christ Jesus, saints, ambassadors, kings and priests, the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, fellow citizens with the saints, holy, the habitation of God, the temple of the Holy Spirit, and many other remarkable terms.

The above words describe how God sees us and desires to treat us. The rub is that God cannot treat us like He sees us unless we see ourselves as He sees us. It is time to take your place as a person highly favored by God and get rid of the stinky thought that you are a worm in God's eyes.
