Rule With Favor

With favor, God surrounds you as with a shield. God had brought Daniel into favor. He first gained favor when the King’s assistant developed a program to utilize all the wise leaders in captivity from other countries. The captive leaders were often the first to be put to death or made slaves to humiliate them. But the King decided to utilize Daniel.

Daniel then gained favor with the prince of the eunuchs overseeing the program Daniel and other captive leaders were a part of. Daniel would soon gain favor with the King himself. Not just that, Daniel would gain favor with the kings who took over and ruled after King Nebuchadnezzar’s death.

Favor doesn’t have to be just a one-time event. It doesn’t have to be a “flash-in-the-pan” or 15 minutes of fame experience. You can have a lifetime of favor as Daniel did.

Daniel knew his mental attitude, victorious spirit, and faith controlled the outcome. His captors soon became his friends. Then with God’s favor and promotion in his life, his captors became his subordinates.

With God’s favor on your life, God promises, “They shall take them captives whose captives they were, and they shall rule over their oppressors” (Isaiah 14:2).

What is holding you captive or oppressing you that you need to conquer and rule over? It could be sickness, insufficiency, discouragement, a strained relationship, a bad habit, or worry. With God’s favor in your life, you can flip the script and rule over whatever is holding you captive.
