2024, Now What?

Psalm 27:13 (NIV) says, “I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”

As we enter the new year, the question is: “What’s in store for me?” The answer is this new year has possibilities for you. With God’s favor on your life, there are limitless possibilities to become more, do more, grow more, have more, give more, explore life and God’s creation, and help family members and others more.

Have you ever gone “window-shopping” at a car dealership, maybe even eyeing a particular car, only to suddenly notice a car on the lot that you really liked but had never seen before? You might say to your spouse, “Hey, I’ve never seen that model before, but I like how it looks.”

Did you notice that in the next few days, you start seeing that car model everywhere, surprised by how many of them are on the road? You may wonder why you never noticed them before. Why is that? This happens because once you become aware of that particular model, the blinders are lifted off your eyes, and you begin to notice that specific car.

The same thing happens to our awareness of certain aspects of God. When you first get saved, you see verses on salvation and assurance of salvation everywhere. As the Holy Spirit empowers you, you start recognizing the Holy Spirit’s work in every passage of scripture. Then, you begin to believe God for healing and prosperity and discover that there are hundreds of verses on those subjects.

When you first hear about favor, you might think, “Yeah, yeah, sure, favor is good, I’m sure it’s important, blah blah blah.” But then, you start seeing favor from cover to cover in your Bible and understand its connection to almost every aspect of God’s blessings, and you realize its importance.

So, as you step into 2024, believe God for favor.
